The Airway-Restorative
Continuum.
From diagnosis to reconstruction - taking on the cases others refer out. An advanced, case-driven course on how to diagnose the airway patient, sequence treatment across a lifetime of growth, and rebuild function and esthetics with confidence.
Reserve My SeatBeyond the
Appliance.
This is an advanced course for clinicians who already understand that airway matters - and are ready to build the clinical judgment to diagnose, sequence, and restore these cases in their own practice.
Built on everything Dr. Nguyen has learned in airway-focused dentistry, the two days move deliberately from reading the patient to rebuilding the patient: growth and development, diagnosis, treatment sequencing, and finally restorative reconstruction on a stable foundation.
“The right appliance at the wrong time is still the wrong treatment. Successful airway care begins with understanding growth, function, and biology - not simply choosing an expander.”
Four Pillars,
One Continuum.
Every case decision across the two days is measured against the same four outcomes.

This course is for you if…
- You’ve taken introductory airway courses and want to go deeper
- You want to confidently take on cases you currently refer out
- You perform restorative dentistry and keep seeing it fail without an airway lens
- You want a repeatable framework for diagnosis and treatment sequencing
- You’re considering ongoing mentorship to implement expansion and reconstruction
What makes it different
- Airway-first philosophy - restorative dentistry as the outcome, not the starting point
- Four dedicated case-review sessions built into the two days
- Interactive, small-group discussion - not lecture all day
- A decision algorithm you can use Monday morning
- A clear pathway into guided implementation and mentorship
Six Advanced
Competencies.
The Clinical Eye
Read history, facial form, arch, tongue, TMD, and CBCT into a repeatable diagnostic workflow - from age 3 through adulthood.
Developmental Staging
Know when to monitor versus intervene across all four developmental phases, and what each stage can realistically influence.
The Airway-Occlusion Link
Connect airway to TMD, bruxism, and worn dentition - and understand why restorative work fails when the airway is missed.
Treatment Sequencing
Apply a decision algorithm - “What does this patient need?” - to sequence airway, orthopedic, orthodontic, and restorative care.
The Restorative Rebuild
Reconstruct occlusion, vertical dimension, and esthetics on a stable airway foundation for lasting, healthy results.
Case Confidence
Work real cases in small groups so you leave ready to select, plan, and start your own - with a mentor a call away.
A Schedule Built
to Keep You Engaged.
Both days run 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a one-hour lunch and two refreshment breaks. Case-review sessions are woven throughout to break up the day and drive discussion.
Day One - The Airway Journey: Foundations & Diagnosis
Building the clinical eye and reading the patient across a lifetime of growth
Why this course exists - Dr. Nguyen’s evolution from cosmetic to airway-focused dentistry, the lessons that changed her philosophy, and what these two days will give you.
Craniofacial growth, skeletal versus dentoalveolar development, nasal breathing, tongue posture, functional matrix theory, and how the airway changes throughout life.
Medical, sleep and growth history, clinical and facial analysis, arch and tongue assessment, CBCT evaluation, sleep testing and medical referrals - consolidated into one repeatable workflow.
Small-group diagnostic workup of real records. Teams present findings and defend their reasoning before we debrief together.
Rapid tour of the four age-based windows - Early Childhood, Mixed Dentition’s golden window, Late Mixed and Adolescence, and Adults - with the goals and decision points of each.
Interactive cases across developmental stages - the room votes, we discuss, and Dr. Nguyen shares how she would decide and why.
Tie the day together and set up tomorrow’s shift from diagnosis to treatment and reconstruction.
Day Two - From Airway to Restoration
Sequencing treatment and rebuilding function, occlusion, and esthetics with confidence
A case-based warm-up that carries yesterday’s diagnostic thinking into today’s treatment decisions.
How airway drives TMD, bruxism, and worn dentition - and why so much restorative dentistry fails when the airway is never addressed.
Sequencing airway, orthopedic, orthodontic, and restorative care. Comparing expansion and alignment options - Invisalign, palatal expanders, Hyrax, Haas, MARPE, SARPE - by strengths, limits, and ideal indications.
Small groups take a full workup and produce a sequenced, defensible treatment plan - then present to the room for discussion.
Restorative dentistry as the outcome: occlusal reconstruction, vertical dimension, esthetics, and long-term stability once the airway and skeletal foundation are set.
Interactive panel walking four representative cases from diagnosis to final restoration: what concerns you, what you need, what you would recommend, and why.
Your Monday-morning next steps - and how to keep a mentor at your side as you take on your first cases.
Approximately 11 CE hours across the two days. Schedule may be adjusted slightly to serve discussion.
Your On-Ramp
to Mentorship.
You won’t leave and go it alone. This immersion is the first step of a mentorship ladder designed to help you implement what you’ve learned - one case at a time.
